Modernizar e internacionalizar la escuela se hace necesario en un mundo donde los retos y los desafíos ponen a prueba constantemente nuestra preparación para afrontarlos. Grandes cambios de nuestro tiempo que ya es el s. XXI: la crisis, el cambio climático, la emigración, los refugiados, la integración, el abandono escolar, el multiculturalismo, el plurilingüismo, la formación profesional, el mercado laboral cambiante… hemos de crear un entorno de calidad, dinámico, abierto y flexible donde las funciones de educación, de socialización y de instrucción de la educación esté al servicio del desarrollo global de la persona. El papel de la escuela y del docente es fundamental para poder crear el marco y las condiciones adecuadas para descubrirlos y potenciarlos.
En el contexto actual este escenario no puede sólo puede encuadrarse en el marco europeo. Un marco común europeo en materia de educación es imprescindible para contribuir a la configuración política, económica y social de la nueva Europa. Nuestra orientación pedagógica debe ir encaminada al desarrollo del aprendizaje permanente et la mejora de las competencias clave: los contenidos, las destrezas y las actitudes, lo que los informes del Consejo Europeo llaman los cuatro pilares de la educación: ¡aprender a conocer, a hacer, a vivir juntos y a ser!
Nowadays, it is absolutely necessary to bring the schools up to date and internationalize them in a world in which different challenges and demanding tasks are endlessly testing our ability to face them. Great changes have come up in our time, just the 21st century: crisis, climatic change, emigration, refugees, integration, dropping rates at school, multiculturalism, multilingualism, vocational studies, a floating and changing working world… we must be able to create an environment of quality, dynamic, open and flexible in which the functions of our educative systems regarding socialization and academic instruction are at the service of a global development of the individual. The role of school and the educative teams is absolutely essential in order to build the conditions and the framework to find them out and foster them.
In the present context, this stage must not only be setting in the European structure. A common European frame in educational field is the starting point to join in the configuration of a new Europe as far as policy, economy and society are concerned. Our pedagogical approach must be guided in order to attain the development of never ending learning and the improvement of the Key Competences: contents, abilities and attitudes, what European Council reports underline as the four cornerstones of our education: Learning to know, to do, to co-exist and to be!
